Summer Pack Trips

A unique horseback excursion into the high-country Rockies.

Join us on a wilderness summer camp trip starting in June through September and see the Colorado back-country like it was meant to be experienced. Fishing, horseback trail rides, photography, camping, all with a knowledgeable guide and a nightly dinner cooked at camp. We will take you into the wilderness only accessible by horse and foot. Ride along mountains streams, through aspen groves and high mountain meadows full of wildflowers, then up above timberline for views you won't get any other way. Bring your camera!

Do you have special needs? We will get you into the back-country regardless of your age, background, ability, or disability! Contact Us or Wilderness Inquiry for more information regarding your specially suited adventure!

We operate three different kinds of camp trips started in June and running until September

fishing trips

A trip for the anglers. We'll pack into a high lake in the mountains and set up camp for a few days of fishing, and some day rides out of camp for those who don't want to spend the whole time fishing.

progressive travel trips

A trip for the adventurists. We'll take smaller tents and travel through the high country, camping at a different spot every night. This requires a little more involvement with helping set up camp, gathering firewood and helping with horses and other camp chores. There can also be some fishing.

Fishing Trips

Experience high mountain fishing by horseback.

All of our pack trips are fishing trips to some extent. How much you fish is up to you. We will take you up to clear mountain streams and pristine high country lakes that are inaccessible to the masses. There you will find abundant wild brook, rainbow, and cutthroat trout - catch and release as many as you like, and keep a few for dinner.

Contact us for fishing specifics, or to arrange a pack trip that is geared toward fishing. Fish rarely-touched brooks, beaver ponds and lakes by day, and enjoy the stars around the campfire by night. This is a whole lot more than your typical fishing trip.
